Registration Policy & Procedure

Registration Information:

You can register on-line, or by calling the school at 518-696-2400, or by stopping in to see us at 51 Main Street in Lake Luzerne, NY, 12846. Registrations are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis. Many courses fill quickly so early enrollment is recommended. To register online: find the course you’d like to register for on the “Calendar” or the “Courses” page and click the link that says “Add registration to shopping cart.”

All classes are offered by the Adirondack Folk School, a not-for-profit 501 (c) (3) corporation in Lake Luzerne, NY. Our classes are intended for adult learners and children and young teens accompanied by an adult. Your tuition is our primary means of support, along with membership and donations.

Register as early as possible, as courses fill quickly and be sure to watch our Facebook and Instagram posts for last-minute opportunities or sudden cancellations. If you find a course you want to take and it is close to the start date, call AFS at 518-696-2400 as there are sometimes last minute changes that may have left a spot open just for you! Your space in a class is reserved upon registration and payment. Confirmation will be sent out via email. A photo and liability release form will be issued and a signature required at the first class. Course Location:

All classes will be offered at the Adirondack Folk School, 51 Main Street, Lake Luzerne, NY, 12846 unless otherwise noted.

Cancellation and Refund Policy:

If AFS must cancel a course, students will receive a full refund of any payments made for that course. Students who cancel their enrollment more than 30 days prior to the first day of the course will receive a refund of fees paid less a cancellation fee to cover our administrative costs:

  • $40 cancellation fee for a full-day or multiple- day class
  • $25 cancellation fee for a 1/2 day class
  • $10 cancellation fee for children’s classes

In recognition of the time and energy instructors invest in preparing for their classes, students who cancel their enrollment 30 days or less prior to the first day of the course are not eligible for a refund. Exceptions to the refund policy will be rare and considered only under unusually mitigating circumstances.

Tuition & Material Fees:

Tuition and material fees are payable to AFS at the time of registration.
