Description
Did you square dance when you were a kid in school? Maybe your parents did, or you went to a contra dance a few times along the way. Or maybe you've heard about it and wondered what makes it such an enduring part of American life.
Square dancing and contra dancing are two authentically American dance forms, born in this country of roots imported from around the world. They're among the most social of the "social dances," providing safe, comfortable spaces to meet, mingle, and make friends.
In this gathering we'll learn everything you need to know from the ground up: even if you've never danced before, you'll be part of the flow from the very first minute! Dancers of every experience level can dance together and have enormous fun, and all are welcome to come join the dance!
