Christine Hubbard

Seat weaving has been a part of Christine’s life for over 25 years. Her repertoire includes the traditional 7-step caning pattern, pressed can, and splint weaving-including flat reed, hickory bark, and binder caning, Shaker tape, rush, and sea grass. Christine has demonstrated these techniques for a long time, working at the Great Sagamore Camp since 1999, doing chair caning for the public through the New York State Council of the Arts every year since, also at the 18th Century Day at the Philip Schuyler House in Schuylerville, NY, the Harvest Festival held in Shushan, NY, and at the Washington County Fair in Easton, NY. Christine has also enjoyed and taught letterboxing for over 12 years, finding delightful nature trails, fascinating and unique sites as she searched for hidden treasures.
