Chip Carve a Greenman

Adirondack Folk School 51 Main St., Lake Luzerne

A symbol of the unity of man and nature, the Green Man is the figure of a human face surrounded by leaves and flowers. Students will receive a basswood, live edge plank and several possible green man designs, including one female face, to apply to the plank. The face will then be chip carved into the plank. Students will go home with a rustic, interesting and beautiful piece to hang on the wall.

Mountains & Waterways Leather Pendant & Earring Set

Adirondack Folk School 51 Main St., Lake Luzerne

Inspired from camping, hiking, and kayaking in the Adirondacks, we'll be making "Mountains" or "Waterways" leather pendant necklace and earring sets for our class. After selecting a design, students will learn various leather craft techniques, including but not limited to, cutting, stamping, dying, and antiquing. Additionally, we'll add bead "cairns" to our jewelry using notable stones found in the Adirondacks. To complete the set, we'll add leather cord with silver plated findings and sterling silver ear wires. Pendant sizes are approximately 2 5/8" tall for teardrop and 2" diameter for circle.
