Introduction to Gouache Painting- July 2026
Price range: $140.00 through $165.00Join artist Takeyce Walter for a day of painting along the beautiful Hudson River. In this hands-on workshop, participants will explore the expressive possibilities of gouache?a versatile, water-based medium perfect for capturing the changing light, color, and atmosphere of the Adirondack landscape. We?ll begin with a brief demonstration and discussion on composition, color mixing, and painting techniques specific to plein air work with gouache. Then, you?ll set up your easel along the river to paint your own interpretation of the scene. Takeyce will offer individual guidance and feedback throughout the session, helping you translate what you see into a vibrant and cohesive painting. Whether you?re an experienced painter looking to refine your plein air technique or a beginner eager to explore the magic of painting outdoors, this workshop will inspire you to see the Hudson?and your own creative practice?in a new light.

Lakescapes Watercolor Painting- June 2026
Price range: $122.00 through $147.00Are you inspired by our picturesque Adirondack lake views? Join local artist and teacher, Kate Hartley and learn the basics of watercolors in a fun, relaxed atmosphere. Realism, color mixing, wet-on-wet and wet-on-dry techniques, perspective and the "tricks" of capturing light and reflections will be emphasized. Bring a photo of your own favorite lake view, at any season, or use one provided by the instructor. Painting with Patrice – Adirondack Farm in Summer- June 2026
$40.00Using saturated bold strokes of color, participants will create this sweeping view of the Adirondacks. This painting (detail) done by the renowned Adirondack artist, Rockwell Kent (1882-1971), will allow participants to practice cloud formation, mountain peaks and depths, and brushstroke techniques that will bring drama to their piece. Join us for this 2-hour acrylic painting class and bring home your own finished piece, no framing needed. Patrice welcomes all abilities to her classes and teaches simple skills that will bring your art to life.

Painting with Patrice – Canada Goose- August 2026
$40.00Migrating as early as August, Canada Geese arrive in our area by September and October. For this painting, learn first how to lay vibrant sunset colors for the backdrop. To help you get started with the goose you will have a basic silhouette outline. Patrice will show you tips to refine your bird as well as how to paint the dark foreground grasses and cattails that will add detail to your painting. Join us for this 2-hour acrylic painting class and bring home your own finished piece, no framing needed.
