Basic Quilting Techniques- April 2025
This full-day class is for beginners that would like to join us in other quilting classes. In this class you will create a quilted Hot Pad and learn the basics of quilting that include designing, measuring, cutting, perfect points, creating the quilt binding, layering the layers and ideas for machine quilting. These skills will help you in future classes and completing projects at home or in the UFO Studio.

Beginning Crochet – Make a Dishcloth- July 2025
Learning to crochet is a snap! Don't feel intimidated by the lovely creations that you see. You can learn to make them, too. Patricia will help you learn several different stitches as you make something beautiful for your home or a gift. Ages 8 and up.

Beginning Knitting – Make Coasters- July 2025
Have you always wanted to learn to knit but thought it was too difficult? Don't feel intimidated! Our instructor will help you through the process of learning the two basic kinds of stitches as you make at least one lovely coaster. If time permits you may make all three!! Ages 8 to adult.

Spinning, the ancient art of twisting fibers to make yarn or thread, still thrives today, and this workshop will show you how to bring its magic into your own creative practice. In this workshop, you will learn how to spin wool using spindles and a spinning wheel and hear stories and folklore about spinning while you practice. You will learn the basics of spinning, how to work with the properties of wool, and how to ply and finish the yarn you have spun. No experience is necessary.

Chenille Weaving- March 2025
Chenille can be a difficult yarn to work with. It seems to have a mind of its own when dressing a loom. In this class Teri will teach you her tricks for keeping it under control, and you'll greatly enjoy the ease of the actual weaving.

Crewelwork Embroidery- March 2025
Historically, wherever there was wool and fabric, there has been embroidery, and the Adirondacks are no exception. In this class, students will learn the fundamentals of crewelwork embroidery. Students will use a variety of stitches to create a decorative crewelwork embroidery design step by step.

Fat Quarter Fun- April 2025
If you love color, you'll love what a fat quarter bundle has to offer. Select a bundle or create your own. We will construct this Ohio Star using traditional strip cutting techniques. The quilt top will include 12 stars and create a 36" x 46" quilt top.

Finishing Touches for the Handweaver- April 2025
Many handwoven patterns look best with traditional hemstitching. Four styles of hemstitching will be taught in this class. A technique known as overcasting adds a classic look to towels and table runners. The techniques you learn can be used on future projects for both floor loom and rigid heddle looms.

From Fleece to Yarn- November 2025
Wool is a versatile ecological material for knitting, felting, and weaving, but processing it can be a bit tricky for a beginner. In this workshop, you will learn how to work with wool starting with raw fleece straight off the sheep and ending with handspun yarn ready to be incorporated into your craft projects. We will play with wool from a variety of sheep breeds, including some rare heritage breeds, and we'll learn how to use their different qualities to create the perfect materials for your projects. You will learn how to use different wool processing tools like hand cards, wool combs, and a drum carder. If you like starting with natural materials and seeing them through to the finished product, this is a great workshop for you!

Glorified Nine Patch- October 2025
This block will include sewing curves. The Acuquilt system includes match points in each piece that eases the challenge. You will create enough blocks for a table top or a lap quilt project of your choosing. The blocks created in the block party classes will be cut using the Acuquilt cutting system. This system improves accuracy in cutting and reduces the stress on your hands often felt while cutting large amounts of small units of fabric for the quilt blocks.
