Ray Richardson

Ray Richardson is a 61 year old woodcarver from Caroga Lake. With a focus on carving with hand tools for the last 15 years, Ray has learned the techniques and skills necessary to make incredible wooden creations without using power tools. Ray carves bowls, spoons, wooden containers, shrinkpots, mushrooms, miniature furniture, birds, rustic furniture and more using only axes, adzes, gouges, hook knives, carving knives, scorps, and other hand tools. In addition to woodcarving, he loves nature, hiking, birdwatching, mountain biking, animal tracking, foraging, and tending to his organic garden.
